Description

Jacket in waxed cotton from Halley Stevensons, England. The dry waxed finish gives the fabric weather-resistant properties while retaining breathability. Designed with a corduroy stand collar, raglan sleeves, and a detachable hood lined in 100% wool. A wide front storm flap frames the visible button fastening. The pockets are lined in 100% wool, keeping your hands warm like a pair of built-in mittens. The jacket is unlined and designed to be worn as it is or paired with a separate quilted linen liner for added warmth.

Material

Lightweight waxed 100% cotton with a dry, breathable finish that provides water-resistant protection without the traditional waxy feel, developed by Halley Stevensons. The emulsified wax finish, P200 Hybrid Aero, is rooted in Halley Stevensons’ long history of developing weatherproof textiles, dating back to the company’s 1910 patent for textile waterproofing. With a minimal amount of wax, the finish remains dry to the touch and does not migrate, allowing the fabric to be used without a lining. It retains the natural character of the cotton while developing a soft, aged appearance with wear. 

Care

Hand wash gently in cool water using a non-bio soap (detergent without biological enzymes).

After washing, gently reshape and hang to dry with the collar turned up, in a well-ventilated place away from direct heat and sunlight. If needed, iron lightly on low heat. Do not steam.

The water-resistant finish will gradually soften with wear and washing. When needed, restore the finish with a water-based wax reproofing spray to help prolong the life and performance of the garment. The wax used in the finish is fully biodegradable.
