Yes, I have made an anorak in hand-woven Harris Tweed inspired by vintage sportswear. I hope you will like it as much as I do. The anorak is a key piece in the collection with functional details such as a protective hood with drawstring and buttons at front, side pockets with button closure, and a drawstring at the waist. The drawstrings for hood and waist are made with leather from 'Tärnsjö garveri' in Sweden. Fully lined with striped cotton acetate lining.
Please be aware that there is no lining made of nature fibre that lasts as long as Harris Tweed. Alternate the way you carry your bag or backpack, a constant wear in the same place can damage the inside lining and create holes. It will always be a good investment to repair or replace broken lining in your Harris Tweed garment.
Note: Not on sale until next season's winter sale.
A version of this style is also available in organic cotton.
Made in Turkey
100% Harris Tweed
Hand-woven Harris Tweed from the islands of the Outer Hebrides in three different colours; grey green, charcoal and herringbone. The herringbone weave is one of the most popular cloths for jackets and coats and is called herringbone because it resembles the skeleton of a herring fish. The historical Orb label inside each garment guarantees “the highest quality tweed, dyed, spun and handwoven by islanders of the Outer Hebrides of Scotland in their homes to the laws outlined in the Harris Tweed Act of Parliament.” Since the very first nygardsanna collection we have used Harris Tweed, the “Rolls-Royce” of all wool materials, for our coats and jackets. The material will last a lifetime and will become almost windproof by use in bad weather.
Dry clean only, but remember that wool cleans itself. Freshen up your garment by hanging it outdoors.
